Our Story

Our story starts in 2000, when our founder and President Kathleen Larmour decided to take her in-depth industry experience and launch, Professional Retail Services (PRS) a national facility maintenance company. Operating out of a spare room in her home, PRS’s success had laid out the groundwork for the sprouting of yet another company, Retail Security Services (RSS) a national security guard provider. Some time later the need to move both affiliated companies to our current space of 20,000 SQ. ft. in Medford, Long Island, was necessary.

 

Retail Mechanical Services (RMS) had its origin when on numerous occasions, customers would express to Kathleen the need for an HVAC & Refrigeration company that operated and serviced its customers with the same sensibility and expertise as PRS & RSS. With that RMS was conceived.

 

Kathleen, was intentional in entering the field and raising the bar of professionalism in the HVAC industry when she decided to open Retail Mechanical Services (RMS). RMS invested a lot of time in the sourcing of skillful talent, planning, executing and testing of operational logistics and mechanical training programs, before launching. Kathleen's vision was to couple technology, experience, and market research, in order to deliver the caliber of service that the PRS & RSS customers are accustomed to.

 

RMS works hard to continually offer and deliver successful programs, designed to fulfill the HVAC & Refrigeration needs of today.

RMS also offers customers benchmarking, commissioning and re-commissioning reports – which are used to develop cost-effective “predictive maintenance” programs. By including predictive technology as part of routine maintenance, customers could monitor machines frequently, anticipating potential problems before they lead to serious equipment damage.
